The deadline for submitting entry forms for the Pine Rivers Art Awards is coming up quickly.
Entry forms for all categories are due in by March 14.
All categories open to residents of Caboolture shire, Pine Rivers shire and Redcliffe City in 2008.
Total awards and acquisition money $25,500
Category 1- Photography/2D Digital Art/Computer Art only open to residents of Caboolture and Pine Rivers Shire Councils and Redcliffe City Council
· 1st prize $1000 non acquisitive
· Merit Certificate
Category 2- 2D works open to all artists regardless of where they reside
· 1st prize $5,000 Pine Rivers Annual Art Award non acquisitive
· Merit Certificate
Category 3 - 3D works only open to all residents of Caboolture and Pine Rivers Shire Councils and Redcliffe City Council
· 1st prize $1000 non acquisitive
· Merit Certificate
Category 4 – Special Photography/2D Digital Art/Computer Art Prize “Memories of Pine” for an artwork depicting people, places or an event in the Pine Rivers Shire only open to residents of Caboolture and Pine Rivers Shire Councils and Redcliffe City Council
· 1st prize $500 acquisitive
· Merit Certificate
Other prizes and acquisitions in 2008
· People’s Choice $1,000** non acquisitive
· Art Collections acquisition provision $ 17,000**
Any work in any Category may be acquired or may win any one of the above marked [**} awards.
Judge: Michael Hawker, Assistant Curator of Contemporary Australian Art, at the Queensland Art Gallery.

- For this purpose all entries must be accompanied by: -
visual images, clearly labeled with artist’s name and title of work. High resolution digital photographs on CD (under 6MB file size). - a typed artist’s statement about the work (max 50 words)
- a typed artist’s biographical statement (max 50 words)
Pre-selected artists and finalists will be selected by a panel and notified in late April.

I think it's great that you support local artists through your art awards. The works are always of such a high standard. Looking forward to seeing this year's entries.
